Student Loan and Verification Coordinator: This position will manage all aspects of Davidson's available long-term financing options (federal, state and private loans) and federal verification process (from data collection through receipt of corrected verification data), and counsel students, parents and key stakeholders regarding affordability and required aid application processes.
This position is part of a ten-position office in the division of Admission and Financial Aid, tasked with providing access and affordability to a diverse student population through the availability of need-based and merit-based student aid programs. This position will be open beginning July 1st.
Loan Programs - Counsel Students and families regarding loan options; financing options; and other aid-related matters. Certify loan applications. Transmit loan data files. Perform all required reconciliation functions related to Federal Direct Loans. Serve as the primary point of contact with the US Department of Education for Direct Loans, as well as with private lenders, borrowers, and internal clientele.
Federal Verification process - Track all FAFSA filers selected for federal verification. Counsel with selected applicants regarding submission of necessary data. Collect all necessary data to perform federal verification, and perform such verification. Transmit verified FAFSA data to the US Department of Education to receive correct and actionable Federal ISIRs. Notify need analyzers of receipt of correct FAFSA data for appropriate actions.
Bachelor's degree (may be substituted for comparable years of direct experience); experience with accounting and reconciliation procedures; customer service and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Prefer experience with federal student aid transmission and reconciliation procedures. Experience with private educational loan processing; experience with the federal verification process. Experience and proficiency with Ellucian Banner, EDExpress, and Common Origination and Disbursement (COD).
