ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACHAdd to Favourites
The purpose of this position is the coaching and development of young men both and off the field. This will be an offensive assistant position. Davidson is a Division I-FCS program that competes in the Pioneer football league. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a passion for coaching and developing young men. We are looking for an individual that can work in a competitive and fast-paced environment and work with the rest of the staff to accomplish the long-term goals of winning the Pioneer League Championship.
Specific duties include:
Assist on field and in classroom instruction of assigned area (i.e. football) coaching techniques and strategies; evaluate individual performances and provide leadership and instruction in areas of deficiencies as required; serve as an offensive assistant coach; assist coaching special teams as assigned.
Participate in the collection and analysis of tactical and statistical data of opponent teams; assist in designing game plans, game analysis, computer breakdowns, and playbook preparation; assist in implementing practice plan and preparation.
Participate in comprehensive recruiting activities; coordinate efforts with admission’s office to establish academic viability for prospects; thoroughly evaluate and recruit all viable prospects in designated geographical areas. Ensure compliance by coaching staff, players, and recruits with NCAA, Pioneer Football League, and Davidson College athletics regulations, policies, and overall mission of amateurism.
Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personnel matters; monitor academic and social progress of designated individuals on team; consult with college personnel and faculty for resolution of problems as required.
Other duties as assigned.
The job requires a highly motivated individual dedicated to inspiring and leading young student-athletes; an intricate working knowledge of the sport of football.
